Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Baptist Minister, Activist, Humanitarian and Civil Right Leader. He was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968. His birthday became a Federal Holiday in 1986 which is celebrated on the third Monday in January.
