This NMAAHC Pay Me In Tubmans Harriet Tubman $20 Bill Bus Tour #Making History is presented in celebration of the Grand Opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Harriet Tubman was an African American Abolitionist born in Dorchester County Maryland. She was an armed scout and spy for the United States Army during the American Civil War. HARRIET TUBMAN is credited with being the first woman to lead a military assault. Harriet Tubman organized the Historic Combahee River Raid with the help of Col. James Montgomery and the 2nd South Carolina USCT Volunteer Army. The Combahee River Raid liberated 725 enslaved men and women without losing the life of one single Union soldier.

The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the 19th museum of the Smithsonian Institution and is located at the foot of the Washington Monument on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The museum provides for the collection, study, and establishment of programs and exhibitions related to African American life, history, art, and culture. It is a place where people can learn about the richness and diversity of the African American experience; it is a place of meaning, memory, reflection, laughter, and hope.  
This a fundraiser for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture. A Portion of the Proceeds  will be donated to the museum.
Sunday, September 18, 2016 we will experience history live on a guided coach bus touring local Black History Sites along the Journey To Freedom Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway.  
Lunch is at your own expense. We will stop at a Seafood Restaurant in Maryland.
The cost is $100 per person which includes a T-shirt and admissions.
Check-in 7:30 am and Pick up your T-shirt for group photo 
Pickup / Dropoff Location: J.W. Marriott Hotel 1331 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington DC 20004
Buses will depart on Sunday morning at 8 am and return at 3:00 pm.
